In the summer term we worked with Ian Wright from Lancashire Wildlife Trust to turn part of our field into a wildlife meadow and create sensory and allotment gardens in other parts of school. It is hoped that these areas will become a living resource and legacy for the children of Ingol CP in the future. We have grown a variety of vegetables and hope to cook them all when we have our harvest supper at the end of October. We have seen a wide range of visitors to our meadow, which is absolutely buzzing with life! Many varieties of insects and a whole colony of frogs have been seen in amongst the many types of wildflowers and there have been reports of a sparrowhawk hunting on our field!. We are looking forward to seeing this wonderful resource develop over the next few years as it attracts more and more visitors.

We are so lucky to have a nature reserve behing our school. INTACT have applied for Lottery and grant funding to ensure the community can access this fabulous resources as well as protecting the Great Crested Newt.

Our children love spending time here and have been able to observe and discover more about our local wildlife.
