Phonics is a vital part of learning in Year 1 and so we advise that the children complete some form of phonics activity everyday. We suggest that the phonics activity happens first thing each morning whilst the children are fresh!
Click on the phonics phase flowers below to find activities linked to each phase.
To find out which phase your child is currently working at, please message the teachers on DOJO.
Don't forget your child also has the Phonics pack which was sent home at the end of last year.
These packs can be used as part of your child's daily phonics session.
See below the list of Year 1 High Frequency/ Common Exception Words. These are common words which children need know by the end of Year 1.
Children can practice reading and writing these words as one of their daily phonics activities.
